Flavors of Ice Cream in San Francisco
Mar 16th
Victor and I had plans to go to the Shanghai Exhibit at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and eat ramen at Katana-Ya this weekend, but we forgot about the Saint Patrick Day’s parade. So instead of going to the museum, we took advantage of the really nice weather and ended up going over to Bi-Rite Creamery for some ice cream!
Bi-Rite Creamery is off the corner of 18th St and Dolores St near Dolores Park. This little shop has limited seating inside but is always bustling with people. You can walk in and skip the long line if you are More >
Zuni Cafe in San Francisco
Mar 9th
I recently discovered this list of good eats in San Francisco by 7×7. It’s called The 2010 Big Eat SF: 100 Things to Try Before You Die and I’m determined to try each one of these! I went to Zuni Cafe this past weekend with my best friend, Christine, and tried the roast chicken and bread salad.
Zuni is a two-story, corner cafe on Market St. They offer valet service for $10.00 but street parking is available. I took the BART to Civic Center and walked 10 minutes to reach the place. The location is small and space is limited. This means More >
To The End of Hell

I was intrigued to learn about the Khmer Rouge after attending a church service where a group of young adults described their experiences in Cambodia and their visit to now historic places left by the Khmer Rouge.
Broiled Lobster Tails
Feb 18th
For our Valentine’s Day dinner, we made lobster tails!! We’ve never made lobsters before… ever, but we hoped our expensive purchase would turn into a delicious meal. We found a recipe from Allrecipes.com that broils the lobster tails in the oven.
Almond Jello
Feb 15th
I was craving almond jello after having it as a dessert at a Chinese restaurant and found an easy to follow recipe. I’m still trying to figure out how to get that rich milk taste (maybe coconut milk?), but for now, this one will do.
The recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar, but next time I’m going to use less sugar because it was way too sweet. I ended up cutting the jello into small cubes and eating it with fresh mangoes to balance the sweetness.
It took me 15 minutes to prepare, and it really does take 2 and More >
