Mount Diablo 2010
Aug 7th
This past weekend (August 1, 2010), I took a hike with three others up Mount Diablo (located in Contra Costa County in the San Francisco Bay Area). The entire hike takes place on a dirt path with mild shade. The peak is at 3849ft. Visit Mount Diablo Interpretive Association for more information and helpful brochure with map.
Our hike started on the outskirts of Mount Diablo State Park on a small neighborhood street Mountaire Parkway in Clayton (better known as the Regency Drive Entrance). From the start, there are no restrooms or any indication of the trail head, but just start down a dirt path. The main path More >
Yosemite Valley 2010
Jul 10th
Spent July 4th at Yosemite for 2010. We had a cabin in Yosemite West, and did a number of hikes around Yosemite Valley. We did a number of hikes including Yosemite Falls on Day 1. Mirror Lake, Vernal Falls, and Nevada Falls on Day 2. And finally Glacier Point on Day 3. Entrance fee to the park was $20 a car (but lasts a full 7 days). Follow is a short description and our experience of each major attraction.
Yosemite Falls is one of the shorter hikes and is very accessible. If you feel daring, many venture off the path to get More >
Disney World 2010
Jun 27th

To start, there were three of us on this trip. I myself have visited before when I was very young. My girlfriend who has never been to Disney World. And our mutual friend who is a much more frequent visitor.
To start, a few months before our flight from San Francisco to Orlando, Disney mailed one “Magical Express” luggage tags per person for checked bags. To keep it simple, once More >
Muir Woods in California
May 31st
I spent a partial day of Memorial Weekend 2010 in Muir Woods National Monument. This is not my first time visiting a redwood forest, but seeing the magnificence of these trees is a experience not to be missed.
We drove into Mill Valley and stopped at a free parking lot to catch the Route 66 Muir Woods Shuttle. It costs a mere $3 per person for a round trip bus ride. A downside of the shuttle is the bus schedule may limit the amount of time you can stay at the park, as the last shuttle out of the park does More >
