Broiled Lobster Tails

For our Valentine’s Day dinner, we made lobster tails!! We’ve never made lobsters before… ever, but we hoped our expensive purchase would turn into a delicious meal. We found a recipe from Allrecipes.com that broils the lobster tails in the oven.
Almond Jello
Feb 15th
I was craving almond jello after having it as a dessert at a Chinese restaurant and found an easy to follow recipe. I’m still trying to figure out how to get that rich milk taste (maybe coconut milk?), but for now, this one will do.
The recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of sugar, but next time I’m going to use less sugar because it was way too sweet. I ended up cutting the jello into small cubes and eating it with fresh mangoes to balance the sweetness.
It took me 15 minutes to prepare, and it really does take 2 and More >
Shaking Beef Recipe
Feb 15th
Ever since my first taste of Shaking Beef in a restaurant in San Ramon, California, I could never get the delicious flavor of the tender beef cubes out of my mind. With the help of Google.com, I found a seemingly simple, yet promising recipe for Shaking Beef. I say simple because it does not call for odd ingredients. And promising because the recipe is by a chef from The Slanted Door (a popular Vietnamese Fusion in San Francisco, CA). Even though the recipe is simple, I did make some personal (health) tweaks to the recipe. Included in this cooking experience of Charles More >
Homemade Brownies
Feb 14th
I love baking and often use Allrecipes.com to find recipes for desserts. I like to make desserts from scratch and usually try the recipes with ingredients and cookware that are commonly found in most kitchens.
Here’s one for brownies. It took me a little longer than an hour total from starting to serving. It takes around 25 minutes to prep, 25 minutes to cook, and another 20 minutes to wait for it to cool and cut into squares. The only ingredient I had to purchase was the semisweet chocolate chips. I bought a 12oz pack of Guittards semisweet chocolate chips from Safeway More >
