Had the opportunity to go whitewater rafting in Coloma (near Sacramento, California). A group of seven friends met at Mariah Wilderness Expeditions for a half day trip (~$100/person) on the South Fork of the American River. The most intense rapid along the route is a Class 3.

After meeting at 12:00 noon, after a quick 30 minute on-land introduction, and a even quicker 15 minute on-water practice, we were ready to head down the river.
